La Celeta Destination Guide – An overview

La Celeta is a fantastic resort located on the south coast Tenerife , where families can enjoy holidays in safe and relaxing environment. The resort has something for every one let it be the sandy white beaches , an array of water sports, lush green golf course , fishing harbor and a wide range of hotels and apartments.

The beaches at La Celta are ideal for sun bathing and water sports that include wind surfing , scuba diving, water-skiing and of course the all times family’s favorite banana boat. Alongside the waterfront you will find a number of restaurants and bars , where you can enjoy meals and the beach view while sitting on outdoor chairs. La Caleta has wide range of restaurants where you will find a range of local and international cousin  including Chinese and Indian meals. There are also a number of snak bars offering a variety of snacks. The local bars do some offer some entertainment but if you want want a more livelier environment you can head towards Playa de las Americas where there are a number of discos and clubs across the beach line.

There are a number of places to visit in and around La Celeta , you can opt for a daytime or evening beachfront walk from La Celeta past Del durque and playa De las Americas and then on to Playa de los cristnos. While walking, you can explore the beautiful beaches and designer shops at Bahia Del Durque. You can also enjoy playing golf at Adeje Golf Course which is located a mile way from La Caleta.

Another best to explore the Island is via hiring a car. A cable car can take you to the to the top of the volcanic mountain where you can enjoy amazing views of the lunar like landscape and the national park.

During the month of August La Caleta has the traditional celebration of Virgen del Carmen. The festival celebration continue until the early hours and it include a number of activities including dance . music , food ad fireworks show. Another  fiesta that is held in La Caleta during the month of January is dedicated to the patron saint of the village – San Sebastian. Although both festivals are religious in nature , however they can be yet another reason to party until morning.

All year around , the southern region of Tenerife enjoy the  sunniest weather with clear blue skies. From May to October , the temperature is normally above 25C mark and around 9 hours of sunshine a day. During June , July and August the temperature is around 30C and around 10 hours a day sunshine. The gentle winds ensure that the weather do not get unpleasant and the evenings are warm enjoy to a cold drinks in bars.
